Customer Owned Banking Corporation

OVERVIEW

The Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA) serves as the industry association for Australia’s customer-owned banking institutions, representing mutual banks, credit unions and building societies. With a mission to support its 4.3 million members, COBA provides expert advisory services and advocates for its members’ interests, including dedicated support in combating fraud and financial crimes. With 23 staff members primarily based in Sydney and Canberra offices, as well as dispersed across Australia, COBA sought to optimise their operations with the recent migration to Microsoft 365.

BUSINESS NEEDS

Once the transition to SharePoint had been completed, COBA identified several challenges with their internal systems. As new, tech-savvy employees joined the organisation, there was a growing requirement for dynamic internal systems that could not be met by the current setup.

THE PROJECT

To address these challenges and create a cohesive digital platform, COBA chose WebVine’s Injio Go SharePoint intranet solution. Injio Go offered a ready-built intranet solution designed to enhance collaboration, support and engagement among staff members. The new platform streamlined access to key documents, including template agendas and instructional videos tailored to Microsoft 365 tasks. This approach aimed to bridge the gap created by remote work and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.

To introduce the new intranet, COBA conducted a familiarisation session with staff members, guiding them through the platform’s structure and functionalities. Subsequently, a creative treasure hunt with prizes promoted exploration, encouraging employees to actively engage with the platform. The organisation promotes a culture of contribution, inviting employees to share content and ideas, thereby fostering a collaborative environment. Initial feedback from staff members has been overwhelmingly positive, indicating a successful adoption of the new platform.

OUTCOMES

The implementation of Injio Go has significantly improved collaboration and knowledge sharing within COBA. The intranet’s structured layout has made document retrieval more efficient, reducing the reliance on individual knowledge holders. Additionally, the Staff Milestones page has fostered a sense of community by celebrating educational achievements, new additions to families, and birthdays. Senior staff engagement has played a crucial role in highlighting the importance of these engagement tools, fostering a culture of participation and ownership among employees.

Looking ahead, COBA aims to further optimise their processes by implementing workflows to automate repetitive tasks and developing additional templates to facilitate consistent branding and content creation. By leveraging the capabilities of the Injio Go platform, COBA is committed to enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and employee engagement across the organisation.

“Using Injio Go as the framework for our intranet not only saved us a significant amount of development time, it also provided a broad range of pre-built templates, reducing the challenge of how pages needed to be laid out. These templates inspire creativity whilst also providing guidelines in creating engaging content. We are excited to continue developing our intranet and using its capabilities to support our team.”
